OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate in Digital Media

Exam board: OCR
Guidance: Five GCSEs at grades 4 or above, including English.
Course Start Date: 09/2020
Course length: 2 Years
Course description:

Launching for first teaching in September 2020 is our Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in Digital Media.

This qualification is a balanced mix between externally assessed units (exams) and practical production units. It allows a practical student to engage all aspects of media production from pre-production through to post-production. Theory elements will be given a practical framework to allow learners to see the link behind such work in the practical context.

You must be able to work to tight deadlines and be genuinely committed to spending time outside of your timetabled hours on your productions – either planning and researching and filming a project, or hours spent in post-production editing your work.
We have a strong and growing equipment bank of resources such as Canon EOD 100D DSLR cameras, Velbon tripods, dolly, tracking equipment and Sony Vegas Pro12 editing software that enable our students to produce professional quality work.

Students will develop knowledge and skills that are applicable in a wide variety of work situations or on higher education courses. Cambridge Technicals in Digital Media focuses on the skills, knowledge and understanding that todays universities and employers demand.

Course units:

Students study six units across a two-year period:
Unit 1: Products and Audience [EXAM]
